The D-SPLICER Soft Fid is the solution for all splices with double braid ropes, where traditional hollow or drawing needles do not work properly. Especially with modern very tightly woven ropes like RunnerTwin, you often reach the limits of metal needles.
The Soft Fid is composed of a white sheathed braid and a colored braided hollow Dyneema® rope. To splice them, put the plug end of the rope onto the white jacketed braid end of the Soft Fid. Use a thin splicing needle to pull the colored end of the Soft Fid through the long part of the rope. Now pull tightly on the colored end of the Soft Fid as the white sheathed braid with the capped rope end pulls through the rope.
