Simple, fun and quick! The RS CAT12 brings buoyancy and maneuverability to the CAT, returning to the beach with energy, as the bubbly cadet of the RS CAT16 and RS CAT14. This little car retains many of the dynamic characteristics of its predecessors while simplifying the essentials so that beginners can begin their nautical adventure with complete confidence.
The simplified design includes a furling jib, reefed mainsail and masthead float, putting safety at the heart of learning to sail. Liftable front handles and rudders make launching and returning to shore easy, while the entire boat can be lifted easily using the patented RS hull chute.
Strong and durable, the shell is robust, made of PE1 by rotational molding. For added versatility, the bows feature removable and replaceable bumpers – a unique innovation in the CAT range.
For comfort, the self-bailing deck has a concave seat on the hull as well as a trampoline and a seating area to accommodate up to 3 crew members. Additional options include a simple trapeze – a great way for novices to familiarize themselves with technique and improve performance at a fun and challenging pace.
